Laoise Ryan and Friends – Climbing Croagh Patrick – June 14th 2014

Hi all,

My name is Laoise Ryan and for the past 2 years myself and a large team of enthusiastic volunteers, have taken part in an annual fundraising event for the Irish Kidney Association.

The IKA is an organisation that is very close to my heart. My sister Áine was a dialysis patient and organ recipient and the IKA were always a great source of support to my sister and our family throughout her illness. Whether it was the organisation of a holiday in Tralee that allowed Áine to get away while still receiving dialysis, providing accommodation for us in the Renal Support Centre in Beaumount hospital while Áine received her transplant, or even just to provide information in simple understandable terms, the IKA was an immense help and source of information through some tough times.

This year on the 14th of June we aim to climb Croagh Patrick to raise awareness of organ donation. Of course we would also like to raise some vital funds for the IKA along the way.

So if you would like to join the climb (or crawl in some cases!) or make a donation (via donation button below) please give whatever support you can. Every little helps and the smallest donations can make a big difference. Every cent goes to the IKA to fund the great work that they do.
