Edward McAuliffe – European Transplant & Dialysis Sports Championships

My name is Edward McAuliffe, I live in Portarlington, Co. Offaly, I am 42 years old. I suffer from a hereditary kidney disease called Polycystic Kidney Disease and in 2008 I received a kidney transplant from my sister Ann. The transplant was life changing for me and in words or actions I could never thank my sister enough for her gift of a second chance at life. I have decided to enter the European Transplant & Dialysis sports Championships in Poland in August this year as a member of Transplant Team Ireland. The Championships help to raise awareness around the importance and success of organ donation and transplantation. I want to do my part in promoting organ donation as without donors myself and thousands of others would not have this new lease of life. Also, as a hereditary disease my two children will possibly face a transplant in their adult life and I need to do all I can to make sure that people carry donor cards so that if necessary they will have their second chance. To participate in the Championships I need sponsorship and I humbly ask for any help you can give.
